October Holiday Art Camp
Join us for an artist-led adventure at Holyrood Park for children age 5-12.
Inspired by nature and our majestic setting, this 1-day art camp will be an inclusive and welcoming space for all to learn new art skills and explore their creativity in a playful way. No previous experience necessary. Limited spaces available.

Art Buds Fridays
Our artist-led Friday afternoon classes are back! Designed to engage children aged 5-12 in outdoor adventure and art making, these sessions will spark curiosity in the natural world, environmental stewardship and joy in artistic process.

Dates: 4 September - 13 November (10 weeks, excludes 16 October)

We specialise in delivering engaging and inclusive classes and workshops for community groups, schools, and nurseries. Our programmes foster a deep connection with the environment, promoting personal growth and teamwork, as well as creativity. Together, we create memorable learning experiences that inspire a lifelong love for art and nature and enhance the curriculum.
Art Buds Creative Communities 2021-2024
Art Buds Creative Communities offers children and families in Muirhouse and Bingham access to free outdoor art classes and summer camps for children aged 3-11. The project is delivered in partnership with North Edinburgh Arts and Community Renewal, and generously funded by Creative Scotland and Edinburgh Council.
The project won the Creative Edinburgh Community Award in 2022 for its positive impact on the community. We hope to return to work with the communities of Muirhouse and Bingham in summer 2025.

NB:Connect 2024
Art Buds Collective partnered with Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, Transport for Scotland and the local communities of Niddrie and Bingham, to transform the Niddrie-Bingham Tunnel into a vibrant public artwork. This project brought together professional artist KMG, three local young interns and diverse community groups to co-create a mural that reflects local heritage, environment, and pride. The result is a safer, more welcoming space that fosters connection, inspires care for the local environment, and provides young people with valuable creative and employability skills. The project has left a lasting legacy of creativity, collaboration and community empowerment, and is now maintained by a team of local volunteers.

Painting with Petals
In 2024-25 we ran a joyful series of outdoor creative sessions in the gardens of Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre, bringing together pupils from Ferryhill Primary, Oaklands, and Rowanfield Special Schools. Workshops connected children of all abilities with nature through sensory artmaking - using clay, twigs, spices, flowers and found materials. From elder bead sculptures to secret garden boxes, the sessions blended storytelling, seasonal exploration, and recycled creativity. The project fostered inclusion, calm focus, and cross-school friendships, culminating in a public showcase of the children’s creative work.
Beacon Unveiled
Between June 2025 and June 2026, Art Buds Collective delivered the Bingham Art Path project on behalf of Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, funded with the support of Transport Scotland. This project has been central to revitalising Edinburgh’s National Cycle Network Route 1 through community-led creativity. We are proud to have facilitated engagement workshops, inviting over 260 local children and residents, as well as young interns Brogan and Taghreed, to share their stories and shape the local green space. Working closely with the artist duo Littlewhitehead and Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, we translated the community's ideas into a community exhibition and then Beacon, a striking permanent cast-concrete sculpture. This beautiful landmark now offers a vibrant place for people to pause, connect, and enjoy a shared space that truly reflects the soul of the Bingham neighbourhood.
